  • A magazine for anyone looking to live a happier and healthier lifestyle
  • Each issue includes a variety of stories all centred around improving your overall health and wellbeing

Issue four of the parkrun magazine has a volunteering focus, find out all about the many ways in which you can join in on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Let’s volunteer!

One of the many brilliant things about parkrun is that it’s for everyone (spoiler alert: you don’t have to run). There are loads of ways you can join in: walking, jogging, running, volunteering or spectating. Issue four of parkrun magazine celebrated volunteers, sharing stories from around the UK and finding out a bit more about the benefits of volunteering. As well as being a chance to meet new people, volunteering at Saturday or junior parkrun is an opportunity to learn new skills and to gain self-confidence.
It might just change your life…

Meet George Rainsford

If you’ve ever watched Casualty or Call the Midwife , you’ll know the actor George Rainsford. But did you know that George is a keen runner and avid parkrunner? In fact, while he was touring in a theatre production during early 2023, he challenged himself to complete the closest parkrun to every venue.
We had a chat with George in issue four of the magazine.

Real-life stories

Each issue of parkrun magazine is packed with stories from parkrunners around the country. In issue four, we looked back at the amazing July weekend that marked the 75th anniversary of the NHS, as well visiting Springburn parkrun in Glasgow, plus meeting wedding-day parkrunners in Wales, a teenage volunteer in Slough and an avid parkwalker from Sheffield.

Try something new

Have you ever thought you’d like to start a new hobby, but were worried nerves might hold you back? We’ve had a look at five hobbies you might like to try, talking to people who’ve had a go themselves and checking out ways you can get involved.

The parkrun magazine is a publication that is inclusive, representative, supportive and kind; that, like parkrun strives to change the face of physical activity.

The parkrun magazine will challenge everything you thought you knew about ‘running’ magazines!
